Poolman Will Be Chris Pine’s Debut Feature Film.
Chris Pine, a well-known Hollywood actor, is set to make his directorial debut with the film “Poolman,” which will be released later this year. According to the most recent Hollywood news, the 41-year-old will not only direct but will also star in the picture alongside actors such as Danny DeVito and Annette Bening. Poolman is currently being described as a blend between the Jeff Bridges-starring picture “The Big Lebowski” and vintage Los Angeles noir flicks, with a tinge of Damien Chazelle’s “La La Land” thrown in for good measure.
Pine is expected to play the role of Darren Barrenman in the upcoming feature film. He will portray a hapless dreamer and a would-be philosopher who enjoys spending his free time in the pool of the Tahitian Tiki apartment building in Los Angeles (LA) with his neighbours, including Diane (Bening) and Jack (Bening), among others (DeVito). The official potline has this to say about the film: “When Barren Man uncovers the largest water heist in Los Angeles history since “Chinatown,” he forms uneasy alliances with a beautiful and well-connected femme fatale while following every lead he can with corrupt city officials, burned-out Hollywood types, and mysterious benefactors—all in the name of protecting his precious Los Angeles.”
The film will be produced by Patty Jenkins, who will also direct it. He is known to have previously collaborated with Chris Pine on projects such as “I Am the Night” and “Wonder Woman.”Pine is rumoured to have collaborated on the mystery-comedy film’s script with Ian Gotler, who directed the film. He is a co-producer under his own production banner, Barry Linen Motion Pictures, which he founded.
Pine is expected to appear in Olivia Wilde’s upcoming film, “Don’t Worry, Darling.” The film will also feature Harry Styles and Florence Pugh as supporting characters. He will also appear in the film “The Contractor.” The film will star Ben Foster and Kiefer Sutherland and will be a thriller.
